Why buy Management Rights in North QLD
Published: 03 September 2007.
Life on the land is pretty hard, especially when you see your crops destroyed in a hailstorm. We were farming out at Surat, South West Qld, & not long after this hailstorm, someone, (it may have been my father-in-law), mentioned Management Rights, easy money he said, & a fantastic lifestyle.
Well there has to be an easier way to make a living than farming. So we started looking into it further & after a fair bit of research, we felt that this was the way to go! We had a bit of a hunt around down South, but with one young son and another baby well on the way, we needed something with space. Our requirements were very simple; find us a decent three bedroom managers residence that has room for a family and a business that will allow us time with our family.
Well it was there, we found what we were looking for down South, but the price tag was too much for our small budget. An agent had called; look north to Palm Cove she said! There was a property there that had what we were looking for, (or so we thought), 12 months old, stand alone residence with three bedrooms, huge yard, heaps of storage, excellent location. Two days later we arrived, & the complex had been sold on our way up, (gee you have to be quick!).
We finally found it in Port Douglas, with every thing that we were looking for and more! perfect!. We wound up spending a little more than what we bargained for, but in comparison to what our money would have bought down south, we had twice the property for half the price.
Three years later, & the time had come to move on, We sold the Port Douglas complex to a great couple, who we can call on anytime for a cuppa, and in fact we have been back to take care of the place while they were on holiday, (& that’s the way it should be)
The North is a great place for making friends in the industry; we work in together & while we may come from opposing properties, we help each other. Try & find that level of assistance from an opposition Hardware Store! It takes little time for the newcomers to discover that there really is a sense of community, and that would be one of the best parts about owning Management Rights here in North Queensland.
So five years later, and not only are we selling the odd M/R complex, but we’ve bought another one ourselves, this time down in Cairns with a new permanent complex, (getting lazy!), although I have Owners, wanting to holiday let,,,
Look to the North, not only would you be living in a very beautiful part of the world, you will have more $$ left in your pocket. If we can tempt you, then my number’s below, I may only sell two or three management right complexes a year, but I guarantee that when it comes to the resale, you know who will be the agent.
